If you’re a student at school or university, we have plenty of exciting opportunities for you to become a part of the Leading Routes community.

If you're currently in Year 12 or 13, Future Scholars could be for you. The programme will support you up until your first term at university, offering workshops and opportunities tailored to aid your transition to university life. Commit to regular in-person and online workshops, where you'll gain invaluable insights. Ready to take the first step? Visit the Future Scholars website to learn more and stay updated on application openings.
Mentor on the Future Scholars programme
The commitment is from August to December and you’ll attend an online training session, follow our programme guide to direct your support, and hold fortnightly meetings with a small group of Scholars. Ready to make a difference? Applications usually open at the end of June and full details are available on the Future Scholars website
Join the African Diaspora Postgraduate Seminar Series
Throughout these seminars, students will hear from Black academics on a range of topics, such as the PhD journey, literature reviews, methodologies, fieldwork, and writing up research. Students will also have the opportunity to present their own research and receive valuable feedback. These seminars are an excellent opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, engage with thought leaders, and participate in discussions that celebrate and amplify Black scholarship in academia. We are also fostering international dialogue, creating connections with academics from around the world.
